The town of Bulembu is surrounded by the natural beauty of lush green hills and eucalyptus forests nestled above the Komati Valley. Bordering South Africa, Bulembu is located in the Highveld of Northwest Swaziland and is a malaria-free locale.
All of the guests who visit Bulembu are referred to as 'Voluntourists', meaning you are a tourist having the option to volunteer at one or many of our community projects.
Voluntourism
Each voluntourist is treated like royalty at the Bulembu Country Lodge, offering comfortable and relaxed accommodations to suit any budget. The Lodge can accommodate individuals or groups and team visits.
All of our guests have a choice between lodge accommodation, self-catering homes or hostel accommodation at Bulembu Country Lodge; all with well-appointed en-suites or shared bathroom facilities. We also provide healthy, balanced and traditional Swazi meals at our set-menu dining hall.
Volunteer
For those interested in visiting Bulembu with the sole purpose of serving our community, we recommend you apply for our volunteer program. As a volunteer you can live in Bulembu for up to three months, while participating in a self-directed program that will immerse you in the Bulembu community.
Adding to the Bulembu experience, we
provide a range of activities; tour the town and surrounding countryside,
engage in the community and see restoration in action as you take time to visit
our various community care projects and businesses.
Bulembu will provide a rich cultural experience and is within short distances of many major South African attractions, such as Kruger National Park.
Visit for a few days, a few weeks or a few months, and return home knowing you experienced a life-changing encounter of transformation in action.
